Explore how sustainability is implemented in our capsule hotels

Sustainability touches every part of what we do, from the first design sketch, to our capsules, our operations and daily routines. We’re on this journey with a genuine desire to improve and do better every day. We know there’s always more to learn, and we’re excited to share each step of this process with you.

Our Sustainability Goals

1
Integrating sustainability into every decision

Sustainability is embedded in all aspects of our business. From big strategic moves to everyday choices, we aim to make sustainability a cornerstone of our operations. We know it’s a journey, and we’re constantly working to do better, step by step.

2
Inspiring change in the hospitality industry

We want to be more than just another company talking about sustainability. Our aim is to set an example in hospitality, proving that sustainability and outstanding guest experiences can go hand in hand.

3
Raising awareness on sustainable travel

Real change happens when people are engaged and informed. We’re dedicated to raising awareness with guests. Through practical actions and industry influence, we aim to foster a ripple effect where sustainable travel becomes the norm rather than the exception.

What sustainability means in our capsule hotels ?

Each focus area in our Impact Framework aligns with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), creating a common language for global impact.

Below you find a few insights in each area of our impact framework. For a more thorough description, please check our sustainability report!

Environmental Impact: reducing and minimising our footprint

SDGs 6, 7, 12, 13

Our focus on minimising environmental impact is real and visible in each of our hotels. We’ve implemented LED lighting and water-efficient fixtures, reduced single-use plastics, and actively use renewable energy where possible.

Impact metrics
Our capsule rooms produce 81% less CO2e per night than the average hotel room in Switzerland.

Actions you can see when you stay with us
Refill stations for water, dedicated recycling areas, and informative signs that encourage sustainable behaviours.

People & Community: celebrating and empowering local talent

SDGs 8, 12, 17

We’re passionate about engaging with local communities and supporting the well-being of our guests and team members. By involving our staff and guests in these efforts and valuing their feedback, we ensure a meaningful impact and foster social equity and community well-being.

Highlights
When visiting one of our hotels, the talents of local artists like the photographer Fabio Zingg and the artists Mathias and Karin Leutwyiler are showcased all around: Each unique hotel theme comes to live thanks to their art.

Guest activities
Curated experiences and tips that showcase local culture, from art tours to community dinners. We host events of different kinds to bring locals and travellers together.

Responsible Leadership: transparency and open dialogue

SDGs 8, 13, 16

For us, responsible leadership is about putting people first and fostering transparency. We strive to create a supportive environment where open communication flows freely and is encouraged between hosts, housekeeping, managers, and all our team members, and everyone’s feedback is genuinely valued. We are setting clear standards by creating policies to ensure fair wages, non-discrimination, and foster continuous education.

Communication
A culture of feedback and transparency, with annual surveys to improve guest and employee experience.

Future plans
Our first sustainability report in 2025 will set clear, measurable standards to keep us accountable.

Local focus & Sustainable Futures: strengthening our communities

SDGs 8, 12

We believe in building meaningful partnerships that support the local economy. By sourcing from local suppliers and partnering with small businesses, we create value beyond our walls. As part of our holistic approach, we recognise our role in the local ecosystem and strive to share our benefits with the community.

Local connections
Local connections: We work with local producers for food, art, and guest experiences, giving you a unique, regional experience.

Our ecosystem
Each hotel is part of its neighbourhood, hosting community events and supporting local initiatives.
